Is Mr. Glass better than PGT?

Neither answer is honest at brand level. SmartWay configures Mr. Glass today, with released series and documented pricing on file — so that half of the comparison is verifiable here. SmartWay does not configure PGT, so we hold no design pressure number, no approval document and no glass makeup for it to compare against. The only honest comparison is series against series, using each manufacturer’s own approval documents for your exact size.

How does Mr. Glass compare to CGI?

The same way: SmartWay has a documented record for Mr. Glass and none for CGI. That is not a judgment on CGI — it means CGI is not in SmartWay’s released catalog yet, so any specific number for it needs to come from CGI’s own documentation or the public approval portals, not from a comparison page.

Is Mr. Glass or ES Windows the better choice?

This is the one comparison SmartWay can actually back with data: both are configured here today, and the Project Builder prices each independently from its own verified record. Neither is presented as identical to the other — series, size and configuration decide which one fits a given opening, and the builder shows the evidence status for both.

Where do I check a brand SmartWay does not carry?

The Florida Building Commission’s statewide Product Approval search and, for Miami-Dade addresses, the county’s own Product Control search cover any manufacturer, including ones SmartWay does not configure. Search by product or NOA number and confirm the approval is still current — the portals show that status directly.

Guides · The comparison

Comparing brands? Start with the document, not the name.

Searches like “Mr. Glass vs. PGT” or “CGI vs. Mr. Glass” put two names side by side as if a brand carries one grade across every product it makes. It doesn’t. What actually differs is the paperwork behind one specific series, in one specific size — and here is exactly what SmartWay can verify for each name people search, and how to check the rest yourself.

Mr. Glass vs. ES Windows — the comparison SmartWay can back

Both manufacturers are configured in the Project Builder today, and each is priced independently from its own record — a Mr. Glass result is never interpolated from an ES Windows number, or the other way around.

Neither manufacturer record claims to match the other’s product one-for-one. Series, size and configuration decide fit — the builder checks your exact opening against both.

PGT, CGI and anything else on your list

SmartWay does not configure PGT or CGI today, so there is no design pressure number, no approval document and no glass makeup for either one on file here — publishing a specific figure without that document would be exactly the kind of unverified claim this site refuses to make. That is a gap in SmartWay’s released catalog, not a statement about the manufacturer.

To check PGT, CGI or any other name on your list, go to the source that actually qualifies the product: the manufacturer’s own technical documentation, or the public approval portals below. Search by the exact product and size you are considering — a brand name alone does not tell you whether a specific configuration is qualified for your address.

The comparison that actually answers the question

A brand does not carry one grade across its entire lineup, and two ranking pages will disagree about the same name for exactly that reason. The methodology that resolves it — the five checks that work on any manufacturer’s product, not just the ones SmartWay configures — is laid out in full in how to evaluate impact window brands. For what design pressure, NOA and Florida Product Approval numbers actually mean once you find them, see window ratings explained.
