Your project draft stays on your device

The builder autosaves your project (openings, sizes, choices) to your browser’s local storage. No account is required. When online project saving is enabled, project specifications are also saved securely to SmartWay so you can resume them. After verified sign-in, a project can be linked to your account. Photos you attach in the builder stay on your device (see the next two sections for the one exception, Detect my windows).

What happens when you submit a request or message

On this site, delivery is switched on: when you press send, your request (contact details plus, for builder requests, your project details) is transmitted over an encrypted connection to our request inbox so a person can respond. If the transmission fails, the request is kept on your device and retried — it is not sent anywhere else. Either way, a copy stays on your device for up to 30 days (see retention below).

How long submitted data stays on your device — and how to delete it

Requests and messages saved in your browser (including anything waiting to be sent) are deleted automatically after 30 days. You can also delete them right now:

Photos you attach in the project builder stay on your device

A photo of your home can identify your address. Photos you attach inside the project builder are kept as local previews only and are not uploaded — the submission code removes the photo field before anything is stored or sent, in both delivery modes.

Detect my windows: your photo is uploaded to our server

This is different from the builder. The “Detect my windows” tool (at vision.smartwaytobuywindows.com) uploads the photo or address you give it so it can find the windows and doors. What we can confirm about how that works today:

• What is uploaded. The photo file you choose, and the address if you type one. Location data (GPS/EXIF) is not kept: the stored copy is rebuilt from its pixels, and the original file is not stored.
• Where it is stored. On storage run by us, under a random file name. It is not published: it can be opened only through signed links that expire after 10 minutes, or through a share link that you or our team create. Traffic to the tool passes through Cloudflare.
• Who processes it. The detection runs on our own machine with an open-source model. Your photo is not sent to Google or to an outside AI service. The address you type is sent to Google Maps Platform (geocoding, Street View and satellite images) to show your home.
• What we keep with it. The detected openings, any measurements or corrections you enter, and technical logs. Your corrections are not used to train our models unless our team approves them first.
• Who can see it. People on our team who operate the tool, and anyone you give a share link to. If you continue to the project builder, only the opening details (type, configuration, size and confidence) are passed on — not the photo.
• How long it is kept. Each photo is marked for removal after 180 days, but the automatic clean-up is not running yet, so we do not promise deletion on that schedule. Daily backups of the tool’s database and photo storage are made, and the most recent 14 copies are kept.
• Deleting your photos. There is no self-service delete button yet. If you want your photos and openings removed, tell us through the contact page and mention Window Vision.

Contact data is for your request only

The contact form asks for your explicit consent before anything is submitted. Details you share are used to respond to that request or message — not for marketing lists. We don’t sell leads. Ever.

Optional journey measurement and campaign attribution

Use Cookie preferences in the footer to accept, reject or adjust optional Analytics and Marketing attribution. Necessary storage keeps sign-in, project saving and your choices working. A random preference identifier in browser storage coordinates your choices across tabs, expires after 180 days and is not used for device fingerprinting. Analytics records page categories and selected project actions after consent; new activity can be associated with your account after verified sign-in. Marketing attribution stores campaign source and identifiers from links, separately from analytics. This choice does not enable advertising pixels or remarketing. We do not record passwords, form text, private URL parameters, session video or device fingerprints in this history. Optional event history is available for 30 days; cleanup runs every 15 minutes and during collection. Consent preferences expire after 180 days; browsing sessions last 30 minutes. The technical record of cookie acceptances and refusals is also deleted after 180 days. Automated cleanup runs every 15 minutes. Withdrawing a category stops its collection and removes that category's history for this browser's consent record. Activity that was never collected cannot be reconstructed later.
