How it operates

A picture window is fixed: it has no moving sash or operating hardware. The drawing should show one fixed glazed opening unless the selected product is a mulled or divided assembly.

Where it can fit

Fixed units prioritize light and an uninterrupted view where ventilation is not required. They are often combined with operating windows, but each assembly still needs its own verified product identity.

How to compare quotes

Compare visible frame, glass composition, maximum tested area, design pressure, approval, mull conditions, installation method, and whether a quoted unit is one product or a field-mulled assembly.

What must be verified

Confirm glass type and tint, frame finish, tested dimensions, design pressure, approval, anchoring conditions, and any mull or transom relationship before ordering.
