Window or door type
Single-hung, roller, fixed, sliding door and entry systems use different frame, glass, hardware and operating assemblies. Compare the same scope—not only the same size.
Cost guide · Florida
Two windows can share the same dimensions and still have different material prices because the manufacturer identity, operation, glass, finish and supported options differ. SmartWay lets you configure the opening first and shows a price only when the evidence covers that exact combination.
How the price moves
This guide states no figures on purpose: a number that is not tied to your exact opening is exactly what makes two quotes impossible to compare. What it can do is show which decisions move the price, and in which direction to look.
Width and height define how much frame and glass the unit uses, so a different size is a different product to manufacture. Size can also carry an opening past a series’ documented limits or into a different size bracket; when it does, the honest answer is specialist review, not a stretched number. That is why the sizes you enter have to be the real ones.
A manufacturer’s series differ in frame construction, the glass makeups they offer and the size and pressure limits they document. Two series that look alike in a photo are two different price identities. Read the brand pages for what each supports.
Impact glass is laminated, and the makeup, tint and coatings selected change the assembly. Not every glass option exists on every product, so an option can change the price or can be unavailable for your selection. See how impact windows work.
Frame color or finish, screens, grids and hardware are options with their own availability per product. Confirm each against the exact identity you are comparing, and read how configurations are described.

Single-hung, roller, fixed, sliding door and entry systems use different frame, glass, hardware and operating assemblies. Compare the same scope—not only the same size.
02 · Configuration
XO, OX, XOX and multi-panel layouts describe different operation. A configuration must match the selected manufacturer product before its price or drawing can be used.
03 · Options
Glass package, tint, frame finish, screen, grid, Low-E and hardware can affect price only when that option is available and supported by the selected product evidence.
04 · Project scope
Tax, delivery, installation, permits, access, substrate, finishing and professional measurement are separate scope decisions. SmartWay keeps the instant material subtotal clearly labeled so a customer can compare responsibly.
How SmartWay handles uncertainty
A measured opening can be outside a documented product envelope or use an option that has not been verified for that exact identity. SmartWay preserves the project and requests review instead of silently substituting another product, drawing or price.
Questions about impact window pricing
Yes. Enter an opening in the SmartWay Project Builder. When the exact manufacturer, product, configuration, size and options are covered by verified pricing evidence, SmartWay shows the material subtotal immediately.
Product series, configuration, glass package, frame finish, hardware and other supported options can change the price. SmartWay calculates each released manufacturer identity independently instead of transferring a price between similar-looking products.
No. The Builder labels the instant number as a material subtotal before tax. Installation, permits, delivery, access conditions and other project scope are reviewed separately when applicable.
The opening remains saved and is routed to specialist review. SmartWay does not display a guessed substitute as a verified price.

Product approvals establish documented product scope; they do not establish a customer price. SmartWay displays a material subtotal only from its separately verified pricing evidence for the exact released configuration.
