Counties and places covered
- Orange County — Orlando, Winter Park, Apopka, Ocoee, Winter Garden
- Seminole County — Sanford, Lake Mary, Oviedo, Winter Springs
- Osceola County — Kissimmee, St. Cloud
- Lake County — Clermont, Leesburg, Eustis, Mount Dora
- Polk County — Lakeland, Winter Haven, Haines City
This is the interior of the peninsula. None of these five counties borders the Gulf of Mexico or the Atlantic Ocean, which changes which part of the wind-borne debris test can apply.
Wind zone and building code
The High-Velocity Hurricane Zone is Miami-Dade and Broward only, so none of these counties is in it. With no open-coast shoreline in these counties, the coastal-distance branch of the wind-borne debris definition is not the likely trigger; the design wind speed at the site is the question to answer, using the ASCE 7 Hazard Tool and your building department. Impact products are still installed here by choice, under association rules, and by project-specific design.
Use the ASCE 7 Hazard Tool for the design wind speed at your address, and confirm with your building department.
Permits and product approval: your side of a material-only order
Replacement work is permitted through the county or city building department — Orlando, Kissimmee and other cities administer their own permits. Product Approval documentation for the exact product travels with the permit application, and the person applying is responsible for it.
On a material-only order, permitting and installation are yours or your contractor’s. Read how permits and inspections work and association approval before you order.
Delivery and receiving
Many Central Florida homes sit in planned communities where the association controls exterior changes and delivery access. Confirm approval requirements and gate or delivery-window rules before ordering; a made-to-order product cannot be exchanged for another size on arrival.
Freight and UPS delivery fees depend on destination and size and are confirmed for your address. Details: shipping and freight guide.
How to measure, and what happens to the sizes
On a material-only order, the sizes you confirm are the sizes manufactured — professional measurement is not included. Follow the measurement guide, enter each opening in the project builder, and a specialist confirms configuration details with you before anything goes to the factory. See what material-only supply means.
Manufacturing windows
- ES Windows (ESW) — typically 40 to 50 days
- Mr. Glass — typically 8 to 12 weeks
These are manufacturing windows, not delivery dates: they start when an order is confirmed, and measurement, permitting and installation scheduling sit outside them. Your specific window is confirmed during project review. Last confirmed August 24, 2026; a window that has aged is not a cautious estimate, so it carries its date.
